Ultrasound gives us the answer to the one fundamental question we must ask in order to plan our day: "Is it going to be okay; Yes, or No?"

Monitoring bearing condtion with ultrasound shows us evolving trends in friction levels, random impacting, rubbing, spalling, and other defects at the earliest stage of failure. In most cases ultrasound will reveal the onset of failure long before they show up in vibration analysis reports and thermal imaging surveys. Ultrasound is especially useful for slow speed bearings and machines that do not rotate. For these reasons ultrasound is fast becoming the tool of choice for PdM and Reliabilty Managers as a first defense against unplanned downtime attributed to bearing failures
